Week 1: The Framework, Sleep Concepts

In this introductory week, we'll explore introductory concepts around sleep and its importance as well as the applicability of coaching.

  • Sleep correlations with health and performance
  • Sleep applicability for OMT community
  • The problems in the industry that perpetuate sleep issues
  • Introducing the practical sleep coaching framework

Discussions: Current situations and applicability of sleep for existing clients/patients

Week 2: Anatomy & Physiology of Sleep

This week takes a deep dive into the anatomy & physiology of sleep.

  • Pillars to healthy sleep
  • Mechanisms for how sleep actually occurs (as well as how each can be potentially disrupted)
  • Neurology of sleep
  • Sleep architecture and sleep stage review
  • Impact of sleep on physiological systems
  • Understanding of why most sleep issues develop

Discussions: Relating common patient problems to mechanisms of sleep

Week 3: Assessment, Screening, Sleep Disorders

Week 3 provides a venture into how to properly screen for sleep disorders and major red flags while assessing current baseline to dictate strategies provided

  • Reviewing common sleep disorders as well as medical conditions that can affect sleep
  • The most common sleep (coaching) red flags
  • Practical strategies to screen for red flags and sleep disorders
  • A practical framework to assess sleep baseline
  • Utilizing the framework to set up coaching program and specific strategies

Week 4: Practical Coaching, Sleep Optimization Strategies

Week 4 is entirely focused on breaking down all practical coaching strategies, why they're effective and how to employ them

  • Behavioral sleep coaching strategies
  • Circadian entrainment coaching strategies
  • Stress mitigation practices relating to sleep optimization

Week 5: Business, Marketing, Case Studies

This week transitions into what this potentially looks like in your business while introducing specific case studies and examples.

  • Discussing the potential business opportunities that exist within sleep (coaching)
  • Case study review (both client and business examples)

Week 6: Case Studies, Looking Ahead

The 6th and final week is all about ensuring you're set up to succeed long term. Reviewing additional case studies, answering integration questions

  • Conversations around how to optimize the opportunities that exist around sleep for your business and your patients
  • Reviewing all of the key concepts discussed through previous weeks

Meet Your Coach/Host: Nick Lambe

Nick Lambe is a long-time coach and educator in the industry. Nick is a Clinical Sleep Health Educator and created the comprehensive Sleep & Recovery Coaching Certification, a course that provides a framework for improving clients’ recovery. Partnerships with Nick’s work include The US Marines, The US Olympic Committee, Google & numerous professional sports organizations. 

Nick has also hosted numerous industry educational events including the annual Recovery & Sleep Summit. Other credentials include: CBT-Insomnia trained, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Health Coach, and Medical Exercise Specialist
